In July 2014 I attended the National Council for Preservation Education (NCPE) Conference in the historic city of Natchitoches, LA. The conference held several fruitful discussions on the pedagogical issues and challenges facing the field of preservation today.
A trip to Louisiana would not be complete without visiting some vital elements of its history. The conference organized site visits to two incredibly historic plantations in the area that are now National Historic Parks: Magnolia Plantation and Oakland Plantation.
